Brief :

Our client is the UK division of an internationally listed business who are the global leader in their market. This is an opportunity to join a long established and successful business, with the challenge of leading a modernisation project within the UK entity and finance department where you will have a direct impact on the future performance of the business. This is a high level position within the business where you will also be accountable as the company secretary and take full statutory director responsibilities in the future following a successful probation period.

 

Job Specification :

The successful candidate will join the UK Board, reporting directly to the UK Managing Director with a dotted line in to Group Finance.

  • Direct the timeliness and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance to IFRS and other corporate policies and prepare the appropriate statutory reporting. Annual accounts must also be reported in UK GAAP.
  • Ensuring all monthly reporting and management accounts are prepared on a timely basis to be submitted to the German parent company.
  • Ownership of the FP&A process providing quality and in-depth analysis of monthly reporting, monthly and quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting. Using this information, you will educate and support the organisation to drive profitability through pricing and cost control and report actuals against forecasts in linewith company KPI’s.
  • Main contact for auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date.
  • Payment and management of the UK entity taxes including corporation tax , VAT and PAYE returns, and to be the point of contact for HMRC and any other regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain a policy manual for the finance department as set by the German parent company. This will include maintenance of confidential records, credit control, prepayments & accruals and treasury management.
  • Stock control and provisions.
  • Ensure that all the company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation, maintaining company’s legal documentation and submissions to companies house as well as being the main contact for the auditors.
  • Lead on any contract negotiations.
  • Once this person is promoted to a statutory director position, they will be responsible for the correct financial and legal operation of the company. As a Statutory Director, you must promote the success of the company exercising independent judgement to act in the best interest of the business, its shareholders and employees.

The successful candidate will be a hands on qualified accountant with proven leadership skills that has an eye for detail and a track record for improving processes and efficiencies within an organisation. You will be a self driven leader that is driven by the methods of continuous improvement with first class communication skills that is able to build strong relationships with all levels of the business.
